Sizzles and Smores
We enjoyed a great social evening in the manse garden, on the 9 November, when young and old could get together for a fun evening as we sat around a fire basket, as dusk changed to evening.
The sizzles were grilled sausages, which we mostly ate as hot dogs. This was a great choice as the evening cooled, and we needed to warm up.
To create the smores the young people toasted marshmallows over the fire until they were beginning to melt. Then they served them between two chocolate digestives to provide a delicious dessert.
As the evening ended the young people enjoyed lighting sparklers and waving them round to make patterns against the darkness.
All in all, a great evening: to relax with the people we normally see in church, but we were able to just enjoy the friendship and fellowship without any pressures of time. Our thanks to the Balsdons for hosting us all.
