Young People

Hi everyone, my name is Joycey and I am the Children’s, Youth and families Lead for Leatherhead Methodist Church. I work with volunteers to manage the safeguarding and care of the young people we meet with.

You can find out about our activities for young people, further down the page.

Discoverers

Our young people meet at the same time as our Sunday morning service at 10:30am. Initially they join with everyone in the church for the first part of our service. Then after about twenty minutes they transfer to our Upper Hall.

The sessions include cheeky chats, silly games, and Bible teaching using a wide range of different media.

If your young people would like to join us, please contact Joycey on the email address above.

The Ark

The Ark Toddler Group runs every Friday (During Term Time) from 09:00am-11:15am. There is a suggested donation of £2 per family. For more information please contact Joycey on the email above, or check out our Children’s Work page on FaceBook.

If you would like to be added to our email lists so that we can keep you aware of any news please contact Joycey on the email address above.

Secret Movie

We have a large screen, projector, and blinds for the windows for our church. This makes it eminently suitable to show videos. We periodically choose a Secret Movie, which is suitable for children of primary school age. The movies are normally shown on Friday afternoons, with doors opening at 3:30pm. This makes it easy for parents or guardians to collect the children after school, and then come along to enjoy it together. Refreshments are available to buy, but the movie is free. If older or younger children would like to join in, then they will also be welcome,

Other Events

We organise a variety of events during the year for young people and others to attend, as appropriate. Some of these are social events like quizzes, and games evenings. But we also organise trips. In the past we have visited the seaside, on the South coast. We have also taken groups of young people to visit The Big Church Day Out in Sussex, where they can enjoy a day with lots of music and the opportunity to meet other Christian groups.
