Our Time for Tea December 2023

We normally meet on the first Friday of each month.

We have a time of conversation, sharing a meal, and listening to a talk or presentation.

Mary Pittam introduced and hosted the meeting in her usual style. She makes everyone feel welcome and appreciated.

Everyone can sit with a group that will enjoy talking to each other and share a time of food and fellowship together.

Alison Gillott gave us an insight into her collection of Christmas Cribs.

Some of these were gifts. Some were bought in a variety of venues in several countries.

Some she made for her own family to enjoy, and now she has around fifty nativity scenes made in different ways from a multitude of materials.

She has collected them as a hobby, and enjoyed telling us the story of how they were obtained or made, and what they meant to her.

We were served with a wonderful meal that had been prepared by quite a few people, who showed tremendous talent in preparing some tasty food.

Everyone enjoyed sharing together,
and in this time of Advent we were able
to talk about our plans for Christmas.

This was a wonderful way of ending our year of Time for Tea.

We spent some time at the end of the afternoon singing carols, accompanied by Joy and David.

We look forward to meeting again in the new year with a varied and interesting programme.
